2023 Donations Given and fund raising

The Clay Shoot was held on May 6, 2023 and was huge a success. Our council is currently looking for a resource center in need of an ultrasound machine. 

St. Augustine was in need of a new sign for the church and asked the council for assistance. Council 3285 donated $15,000 towards the sign which was installed in June.

Council 3285 gave $8,000 in scholarships to graduating High School seniors. Each recipient received $1,000. The recipients were: Trevor Montoya-Holy Family High School, Evelyn Michalcyzk-Holy Family High School, Vanessa Arambula-Holy Family High School, Jaquelyn Miramontes-Rangel-Brighton High School, Avila Ruiz-Eagle Ridge High School, Elsie Oswald-Brighton High School, Gracie Oswald-Brighton High School and Dylan Leonard-Brighton High School

Sunday October 9th - More than 90 breakfasts were served. Next Breakfast is November 13th.

The Goal is to give away 500 food baskets on November 19th in partnership with Almost Home and the St Augustine Food Pantry. Update: we gave away approximately 410 food baskets this year, thank you to all our Knights and partners! 

The council has approved $800 to purchase coats and $200 to clean donated coats. High Country Cleaners in Brighton has offered a special price to clean donated coats. The giveaway is scheduled for November 12th at the Columbian Home. Update: We gave away approximately 300 coats during 2022!!

Council 3285 and the have requested a grant from Supreme for an ultrasound machine to be donated to a pregnancy resource center in the Diocese of Pueblo. The council held a raffle and raised $7,060 and Council 3285 will pay $4,315 for the machine. Supreme will cover the other $11,375.

The next pro-life clay shoot will be May 6th, 2023

Council 3285 assisted a local women's shelter with refinishing picnic tables. The tables required cleaning, sanding, painting and clear coating. 

We donated $8,000 in scholarships to students in our area to be used for higher education. Eight students were helped with $1,000 each.

Brother Knights assisted a Brighton resident with yard clean-up. During the day, her yard was cleaned, her garden fence repaired and her back yard gate was rehung.

• A seminarian was helped with $500 to attend World Youth Day in Portugal
• The tuition and books  ($1,000) were paid for a Diaconate seminarian

$5,000 was donated to World Youth Day Pilgrims. The pilgrims assisted are all youth from St Augustines.
